Trouble sourcing ingredients for your Meal Prep Company?
As we speak to our customers, they have expressed concern that their local stores and Costcos can’t seem to stock their shelves quickly enough and certainly not fast enough to provide you with the ingredients to cook your meals.
If you don’t have a relationship with broadline distributors, this is the time to start one. Broadline distributors are not sold out, they have plenty of grocery options to help you get your ingredients and run your business.
Think of a broadline food distributor as that one-stop-shop for all your ingredients and supplies.
Here’s a short list of the top distributors around the country:
- Gordon Food Service www.gfs.com
- Performance Food Group www.pfgc.com
- Sysco www.sysco.com
- US Foods www.usfoods.com
- Reinhart Foodservice www.rfsdelivers.com
- Shamrock Foods Company www.shamrockfoods.com
Many of them have minimums as low as $500 dollars and will deliver the food right to your kitchen, at prices that are lower than Costco or local stores. If you don’t meet that minimum, we encourage you to reach out and call them to discuss an exception.
Is sourcing ingredients not a problem? Great! Consider adding basic products to your meal prep offering, like cleaning supplies, paper, etc. You may want to place a larger order for products and offer some of these goods to your customers.
We want to keep the lines of communication and collaboration open as much as possible during this time so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
